Elective Courses

This was a lesson on the conflict of the 1920s lesson. I contributed to designing the course from scratch based on several key ideas of social studies: power, conflict, human migration, and technology. 

The conflict in the Olympics Google Slides put together for a Socratic Seminar. 

The conflict of WWII was discussed in class as part of our unit on conflict. 

The humanities course was created as a means to provide students with support in regard to historical thinking skills. 

A graphic organizer created for students that they fill out that guided them throughout the conflict of WWII. 

A research activity and debate on the conflict. The question posed to the class was, "should anyone be allowed to express their thoughts on their social media accounts without being banned?" 

This task allowed students to engage in other skills that are a part of higher grade-level history courses.

This worksheet was from one lesson  about gang activity throughout Long Island. The students discussed what can be done to help prevent young adults from joining gangs.
